IGSSS is a National Development Organization, which has evolved as a major player in the development sector in India. We have our presence in 17 states of India working for “Empowerment” focusing on Promoting Sustainable Livelihood, Energizing the Youth as Change Makers, Protecting lives, livelihood and assets from the impact of hazards, Advocating for the rights of City Makers (Urban Homeless) and Developing Cadre of leaders from the community as well as civil society organizations. Our aim is to empower the social, economic, political conditions of poor and marginalized people so that they have a sustainable livelihood in India. Therefore, we are running various Sustainable Livelihood Development Program India, for improving their life for a better future.
We are running various programmes such as People’s Empowerment for Accessing Rights to Livelihood (PEARL), which takes care of orest and revenue land, credit, food security and access to social security schemes, for the poor people in villages. Also, Development through Integrated Livelihood Schemes and Environment Conservation (Dil Se) pro gramme in order to promote integrated livelihood development with improved soil and water conservation activities leading to better agricultural yield. All these are for a better and Sustainable Livelihood in India, wherein no one takes the initiative to improve the lives of poor and marginalized sections of Indian society.
We at IGSSS, promoting Sustainable Livelihood in India for the poor sections and ensure them for the better lives. We look at the livelihood diversification by working by providing to the poor good livelihood assets. We also ensure a proper and equal entitlement to the poor people in villages which are avail to them as per the constitution. We take care of the Marginal and subsistence farmers who become more vulnerable due to the poor conditions at the villages and they are not being given any rights to work and earn a living in villages.
We help them to provide the land rights and land development through our Sustainable Livelihood Development Program India, especially to make their life easy and help to sustain them in bad conditions. Also, we provide food security through our service delivery and improve the production, and ensuring provision for livelihood finance which brings in sustainable results for the communities that IGSSS works with. We encourage people to participate in these Sustainable Livelihood Development Program India, and wants their good involvement and contribution which in turn will help to improve the conditions of poor and marginalized people and therefore, there would be the chances of long term sustainability.
Also, we are empowering the vulnerable, Kashmir where we through our Sustainable Livelihood Development Program India, lessening the conflict through local governance and promoting affirmative civil society action for holistic development, to the poor and marginalised people over there. This project of ours is being supported by the European Union – Welthungerhilfe. Therefore, we are taking every intiative to improve the lives of people below poverty line in almost every state in India.
We have taken the intiative to improve the conditions of poor farmers as in today's world there is hardly anyone who takes the initiative to improve the conditions of agriculture which is becoming unsustainable and therefore we need to take care of this as it provides livelihood to more than 70 per cent of India’s population and is the backbone of India’s self sufficiency in food grains.
