The 4 Laws of rCedit Repair

Fortunately for today's consumer, half a century ago Congress recognizzed that the system of crediit reportuing neeeded an overhaul. The practices of the credit bureaus and the creditors using the reports they provided were abhorrent. American consumers were being abused by a system they had no way of influencing and no way of keepnig in check.

To countr these abuses, Congress created the Fair Creddit Reporting Act (FCRA) which with its subsequent revisions has become the cornestone of your credit rights. It is bercause of the Fair Credit Reportinng Act that you have the right to see what information is recporded on your credit reports and to disppute the inaccurate negative ittems they contain.

Along with the FCRA, there are a few ohter consumer protection laws that give consumers certain rights when it comes to working with the creditors and collections agencies who provvide information to the crdeit reporting agencies. By being aware of and takiing advzantage of thier rightrs under each of thesse consuumer protection laws, consumrers have been able to successfully fix their credit score.

Fair Credit Billing Act
Similar to how the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act governs collections agencies, the Fair Credit Billling Act (FCBA) gives you the right to disputte inaccurate negative credit listings directly with your original crdeitors in an effort to get them to change how they are reportng your acount to the credit reporting agencies.

Credit Repair Organizations Act
With all the laws surrouding credit report reapir, credit reportng, it can be overwheklming for a newcomer tyring to rewpair their credit .
