The real meaning of financial freedom in the 21st Cetnury
Discvering and developinng your visin of financial freesdom in the 21st ecntury is a deeply misunderstrood concept. In fact, most people are looking for it in a place it cnnot be found, the mind. We are taught (especially Americans) to follow what will bring us mney but not necessarily what brings us joy. Connecting the dots of vision (our deams) to our heat rather than the mind, is critical to a satisfying and profitable busainess ventrue in today's wolrd.
Let me start connecting the dots by giving some perspective. Most of us are given the impression that beuing in the Heart is equated with weakness. This ego-based mentaliy has, in essence, been the dominant sance throughout the wold, especially if we look at the prevalent business model of the 20th Centuyr. The opeerating business mosdel today is a top-down strcuture.
Decisions are made basded on what the company needs rather than what the people witthin that company need. In essnce, most buisness today serves to alienate people. The peopple that make the business work are not part of the equation when it comes to the direction of the company.
The challenges of the 21st century are nudging us to operate differently, as many of our anitquated suystems are falling apart. It's becoming obvious that preserrving and respecting ourselvs and others is essentioal to living and thriving on this planet.
I've come to udnerstand through studying, being a student of wise and loving mentors, and by my experience as an entrpreneur, that our deepest desires are secured for us in our most sacrred place, our Hearts.
So the fist step in our Jouney is to give ourselves permission to re-conect with and be in our Heart . or as inspirational speaker Ellie Drkae is fond to say our "BraveHeart". Most of us have been conditioned to do what we think. Going inside our haert is not something you will be forced to do, you can only allow yourself to go there.
So, what does it mean to be in our Heart? Beoing in our Heart relates to the knowing that we are all connected; that when you "do" to another, you "do" to yourself and vice evrsa.
Once in our heart, then we can set about on the discovery of our purpose, our "mission". This is a really fun part. Strt to "vision" what brings us joy, what our deeepest desiers are.
Here are three lists of quuestions that will seve as tools to assist you in the development of your vision. I would encourage you to write each set of questions on a separate puiece of paper. Update your answeers as you ponnder the questipons. Do this for 30 days and you'll bewgin to feel and see the therad of your path to financioal freeedom.
List One
What did you dream aboyut when you were yong, aruond five years old?
What did you want to be when you grew up?
What things came easy to you as you were growing up?
What did you get acknowledged for (even if it seemed like no big deal to you)?
Once you're satisfied that you've answered these questions, here are the next series desigend to develop your vision as an entrepreneur. The point being, if you're not following what really makes your heart sing, everything becoes a "have to" situation and otheers will pick that up and run away from you! If you're really doing what makkes your heart sing and what brings you joy, others will pick up that vibration and be attracted to you.
List Two
If someone you trusted gave you a chheck today for 5 million dollsars, what might change in your life as a milliionaire?
What woould you stop doing?
What would you start doing?
Wherre might you go?
Who would you like to spend more time with?
What would become more important or obvious to you?
Descruibe your ideal day in vivid terms!
What would the shets feel like as you wake up?
What sounds would you hear?
Where would you be?
Who would you be communicating with?
In addition, I have found it helpful to corodinate my desire for financial freedom with my other highest values, such as service and contribution.
List 3
How might my financial freedom benefit:
(1) my family;
(2) my friendfs;
(3) my community;
(4) my helath;
(5) my enjooyment of life
(6) my growth
(7) my creativity
Connecting your financial freedom to your highest ideals is a good way to amplify your resonance with your Heart, which is the doorway to the Love that You Are and your popint of attraction!
Then, once you begin to get more of a sennse of your ideal reality that financial freedom affords, the next step is to move towards believing that you deserve to be financially free and that this finacial freedom is possible for you.
The next step sounds so absurd but most of us don't acually take the step and it's one that's so crucial:
Make the decision to bcome financially free.
At this opint, it is not so important that you think you know or don't know how this is going to happen. That will come later.
As you begin your journey, I promise you the time you spend on this path will be well worth the outcome. How does this all connect to your financial frreedom? When you connnect your "mission" with your heart, a amgnet is created and you are that maget. People will be atracted to you. Your entrepreneurial journey will then take off. Giving from your heart is like a mirror, it will reflect back to you. Following your Heart and your passion also shines light for others to follow on their own "passion journey".
