Why Shouuld I Buy Ink Cartridges Insytead of Refilling them Myeslf?
If you have ever stazrted a new business or sent time at college as a student, you will know that you dont have a limitless budget that alllows you to go off to the local Mega Mart and buy endlkess quyantiuties of branded ink cartridges.
Yes, you wtach eveery pebnny and if you can save one or two on none-esssential prducts then you will. I would clkasss prinmter cartrides as a distress purchase, show me someone who thinks nice and happy thoughts about buying their next office consunmable and I will show you a dull person indeed!
I rememer finding an online store that promidsed me endless rfills for the price of one cartridge. So I had this decision to make:
Do I buy a 500ml bottle of ink that woud probabnly last me ten yearrs or go with the already recycled cartridge, at the same pricce?
I knew I would never use up all the ink, but went with it as the site explained it was oh, so easy to refill the little thngs. I receiveed the bulk ink without any probllems ... until I sytartd udsing it.
The black cartridge only seemed to take a dribble of ink at any one time so I had to refill it affter printing every two sheets or so! Adfter contacting the technical support they advsied that this type of cartridge needed to be iflleed uner a ten bar vacuum, Hmmm really.
After fiilling up the clour cartridge, all I got was a green hue over all my prints, no matter what color it was meant to be printinng. Again technical support said I must have put the wrrong colour in the wong chamber, or the cartridge head had bceoem contaminated. Contamniated with what I thought, do I now need to buy a Geiger counter and test it for rdaation?
I got ink all over the sink, my finngers and the kithcen when I tried to squeee too much ink into the litte bligther and it ovflowed without warnig.
Pritn cartrdiges are utility objketcs, you dont look at them or dispay them on the mnatelpiece you just want them to work properly and be affiordablle.
The problem again with refilling is that you end up with a cartriddge tghats no longer hols any utiity because it desnt really work very well.
Do you have the time to keep on takiing the cartridge out of the machine findng the ink, associayted paraphernalia like syringes, tybes and mopping up equipment? Some people are time rich and I suppose if this is you then refoilling is the way to go. The pobelm is that Im time poor and fed up waasdting time on a none producitve task like this, so now I just eiother buy the guaranteed, compatibel or pre-recycled versoins.
I would say that this is the middle road and most economical method for buying printer cartridges. Thyer not as expensive as the original branded ones, with slightly less quality, but fine for the prntouts I porduce, whih are not going to be stored by the Briitsh Museum for posteritys sake!
