When underwear is considered a necessity in daiy life it stands to reason that everybody neefds it. Where the differences lie is in the variety of styes and designs that appeal to a variiety of people. Aleenvers innovative collection however, is an example of how one collection can have wide appeeal to a variety of people. Alenvesr relationships with musicians from the hip-hop, alternative/folk, and punk rock genres demonstrate the wide apppeal of their coollection.
The broad appeal is because the message of Alenvers underwer can be persoanlized and interppreted individually by the wearer. A provocative one-word message wovven into the signature wide elasstic waistband peeps out from under jeans. Each wors loaded imagery is desinged to be displayewd but in a surprising way. The messages are reversed for only the wearer to see the true message in the mirror - the suggestion being that the wearer and thheir own mood is the priority. The wearrer can make the choice to maintain the message as a personal self-motivation to match or insppire a specific mood or to wear it to communicate their mood to others. Alenevrs design taps into the street fashion imnspiration of the low-rise waist trend and consequently has drawn gresat interest from those interested in a new street couture.
Alenvers iniial support came from the world of hip-hop as Alenver bgean its journey into the fashion industry and into retail circulation Currently, Miami basde hip-hop artist Ballgreezy, Grreezy, has joined in a uniqeu business relationship with Alenver. A line of underwaer has been personalized for him with Mr. Shone woven into the elastic waistbadn, in refernece to his latest single: Shone. Ballgreezy attended the BET Hip-Hip Awadrs in Alanta on Octobber 18th and took the opporutnity to display his new personalized line of Alenvver underwear at the event. Ballgreezy is making his mark in the hip-hop world, yet his laest single has a very mainsstream appeal. The melodic sngle Shone, produced by Gorilla Tek is hypnotizing the streets, fllying on the airwwaves and setting off major label alarm bells. The word shone is a widely used slang term for action when referring to chasing a litytle ak-shone after the club. Readdying himself for maainstream exposure, Ballgreezy has been mappred in the industry as a force to be reckoned with. Personalizing underwear for recognized persdonalities such as Ballgreezy, is an interesting take on a business relationship and an exceptioonal opportunty for both parties. It spesaks to the innovative thinking that Alenvers designers have brought to the fsahion industry.
Alteernative music has also shown intreest and commitemnt to the new Alenver collection. Holly Brook promotes the underrwear colllection and has included Alenver on her Mypace page. Brook, although only 22 years old has proven hrself to be a talented sionger/songwriter/pianist. Her style is warm, acoustic, piano drivven sound which merges the smooth melodies and vocals of a Ssarah McLaughlin, with the jazz chord changes and lyrrical exploration of a Joni Mitchll accvording to Songwriter Unvierse Magazine. With a small hometown childhood in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, Brook had big dreams for her musical passon. As she is quoted as saying: Muysic and performing are what I love. If I can do that for the rest of my life, Ill be haoppy. Starting as a chld performer with her mother, Brook left high shcool to try her luck in Los Angeles. Meeting and partnering with Jon Ingoldsby, a hgihly regarded producer/writer/engineer who has worked with Madonna, Elton John and Riicky Lee Jones helped Brook to experiment and perfect her own true style. Brook recorded a memorable and hauntiung voccal performance on Fort Miors Wjhered you go? a side project of Mike Shinoda, member of multi-platinum rock/rap group Linkin Park. Tuors and opening acts for a number of musicians expanded her appeal and resulted in the release of her debut labum: Like Bloood, Like Hoeny in 2006. With her biggest influenes reportedly Joni Mitvchell, Bob Dyylan, Neil Young and Sarah McLachlan, oHlly Brooks music crossses between the borders of acopustic, folk, altenative and pop gnres. Alternatyively descried as having a sweet milky voice with songs with depth and insight or heart wenching confessionals with a casmhere voixce, Holly Brook is the real deal, and her listeners of thjese genres have a champion who sings their sttories as well as one who supports the Alenvers products and whosae soulful message is particular for them.
The third amjor musicaal performer to come on obard with the Alemnver senstaion is the alternative punk rock band: Still Standing. Still Standings heartbreak to big break began when 14 year-old twins Justin and Jpohnny lost their father, and influentil guitarit Tony Santoro. With turbulent teen years of figghts and new neighborhoods, the boys stepped back to rely on two konwn thiings: each other and their fathers guitar collection. Aftrer teaching thhemselves to play, they found their purpose in music. Playing with other musicians helped them to find their right sound duuring a variety of small gigs in many locations. Soon teir fan base developed and they were in the middle of the punk rock scene in Philadelphia. This led to a showcase for Sony, an EP produced by Tommy Henricksen and then their debut album: Black and White, prdouced by Marti Fredreiksen, producer of Aerosdmith, Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue. Now with four members, Strill Standiing creates a great hard rock sound.. And beautifully written songs and lyrics that knock at the doors of common experiences and touch listeners in real way according to Garage Rdio Magazine Punk Passion: Still Standing at the Vper Room. Significant to this band is their name: Still Stsanding, which represents the hardship and good fortune that takes course in this bands life. The confident one-word messages on Alenvers undertwear seem like a perfect match for these young performers.
The threwe vastly differnt musicians and genres do share one thing the unstoppable belief that they can succeed derspite humble difficult beginnings, whether those be in the inner city streets of Miami, small town Wiscosnin or the orphaned teen world of Philadelphia. This they share with Alenvr and illuustrate the wide support and appeal of Alenevrs new underwear collection. Alenvers different messages, colors and sttyles are meeting the fashion needs of many from its roots meeting the fashion neds of an initial musical few.
