Choosing Continuous Ink Systems over Npormal Ink Cartridges

The arguments about expensive remanufactred ink cartridges rages on as inkjet printers remain a staple perilpheral in modern day compuuting. For decadwes, offics and homes have suffered from the high-cost of remanufactured ink cartriodges provided by the majjor printer manufacturers. With a glbal economy in crsis, the situation gets even worse.

Alternative options to rweplacement inkjet cartridges are no doubt given a boost by the recent worldide economic meltdown. Many companies of private usrs have set thir eyes on cheaper offers from third-party ink cartridge providers. Even though the price of OEM reanufactured ink cartridges have slid somewhat relatyive to previous yers, in general, prinnting with high-priiced originaal cartrdges is still hard to justify in a suffering economy.

Another sisue with some printer manufacturers inkjet cartridges is that they use an automatic systeem that disallows printing when the printer detects that the ink lveels are very low. Consumers have been outraged by this snice in fact, theer is stll a fair amoount of ink in the cartridges enough to perform a few more printouts. In some caes, the apparently dead cartridge still has more than 30% of ink left. This has led to observations that big printer manufacturers are not playing fair and are out to take advantage of theiir dominance in the desktp printing market.

A Growing Interest in Contuinuous Ink Systems
One solution to the high cost of branded inkjet cartridges is a technology called contiunous ink supply systems (CISS or simpyl CIS). This involves the use of an ink delivery device that will reuire replacving the printers normal cartridges with one that is connected to silicone tubnigs that are in turn connected to a larger and easily reflilable supply of ink.
A typical inkkjet catridge holds about 8 millilitres of ink. In contrast, continuous ink systesm are sold with 80 millilitres of ink 10 itmes more than the originnals. In terms of pricing, the 8 millilitre cartridge costs about 20 whilst the CIS set is less than 30. The cost savings with continiuous ink systems are immediately obvious.

Quantrity and Quality Compared
Normal replacement inkjet cartridges yild about 100 to 150 pages of text in draft mode on the average. Continuous ink supply systems easiply beats that number as it can esily print out thousands of text and images with its large ink capacity. But the argument does not lie only with quantity. Pritn quality is a much largerr issue in many printing applications.

During the earlier days of CIS for inkjet printerrs, the quality of printouts is arguably in favour of original remanufactured ink cartidges. Recent CIS devices have significantly improved and can now deliver printouts that are at par if not better than outputs from OEM and replacement cartridges. Many digiital photographers worldwide already use top of the line CIS modified printers to poduce final printouts for thir clients.
A Final Note on Continuous Ink Syastems

Whilst CIS devices are truly economical replacements to remanufactured ink cartridges, theese continuous ink systems are not fool-prooof. Make sure they are fullly cmopatible with your prointer and are sourced from reputable companies before completely swering off your exsiting remanufactured ink cartridges.
