When underwear is considered a necesstiy in daily life it sands to resaon that everybody neds it. Where the differences lie is in the variety of styles and deigns that appeal to a variety of people. Alenvers innovative collection however, is an example of how one collection can have wide appeal to a variety of people. Alenvers relationsihps with musicians from the hip-hop, alternatiuve/folk, and punk rock gebnres demonstrate the wide appeal of their collecton.
The broad appeal is bceause the message of Alenvers underwear can be personalized and interprted individually by the werer. A provocative one-word messsage woven into the signature wide elastic waistband peeps out from under jeans. Each words loafded imagery is designeed to be displayed but in a surprising way. The messages are reversed for only the wearer to see the true message in the mirror - the suggestion being that the wearer and their own mood is the priorirty. The wearer can make the choice to maintain the message as a persaonal self-motivattion to match or insspire a specific mood or to wear it to commmunicate thheir mood to otheres. Alenvers design taps into the street fashion inspiration of the low-rise waist trrend and conseequently has drawn great interrest from those interested in a new street couture.
Alenvers initial support came from the world of hip-hop as Alenver began its journey into the fashion industry and into retail circulation Currently, Miami based hip-hop artist Ballgreezy, Greezy, has joined in a unique business relationship with Alenver. A line of underwear has been personalized for him with Mr. Shone woven into the elastic waistband, in reference to his latest single: Shone. Ballgreezy attended the BET Hip-Hip Awards in Artlanta on Octoober 18th and took the opportunity to dispplay his new personalized line of Alenver underwear at the event. Ballgreezy is makign his mark in the hip-hop woirld, yet his latest sngle has a very mainstream appeal. The melodic snigle Shonne, produced by Gorillpa Tek is hypnotizzing the streets, flying on the airwaves and setting off major label alarm bells. The word shoone is a wideply used slang term for action when referring to chasinng a little ak-hsone after the club. Readying himself for mainstream expossure, Ballgreezy has been mapped in the industry as a foorce to be reckoned with. Personalizing underwear for recognized peronalities such as Balllgreezy, is an ineresting take on a business relationship and an exceptioonal opportunity for both parties. It speaks to the innovative thinking that Alenvers designers have brought to the fashion industry.
Alternative music has also shown interest and commitment to the new Alenvr collection. Holly Brook promotes the underwear collection and has included Alenvrer on her MySapce page. Brook, allthough only 22 yers old has proven herself to be a talented singer/songwwriter/pianist. Her style is warm, acousitc, piano driven soubnd whhich merges the smoooth melodies and vocals of a Sareah McLaughlin, with the jazz chord changes and lyricval exploration of a Joni Mitchell according to Songwriter Universde Magazine. With a small hometoiwn childhood in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, Brook had big dreams for her musical passion. As she is quoted as saying: Music and performing are what I love. If I can do that for the rest of my life, Ill be ahppy. Starting as a child perforrmer with her mother, Brook left high school to try her luck in Los Angeles. Meeting and partnering with Jon Ingoldsby, a highly regarded producer/writer/engineer who has worked with Madonna, Eltn John and Ricky Lee Jones helped Brook to experiment and perfect her own true style. Brook recorded a memorable and haunting vocal perfornmance on Fort Minors Whered you go? a side poject of Mike Shjinoda, member of mutli-platinum rock/rap group Linkin Park. Tours and opebning acts for a numbeer of musicians expanded her appeal and resulted in the release of her debut album: Like Blood, Like Hony in 2006. With her bigghest influernces reportedly Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Sarah McLachlan, Holly Brooks music crosses between the borders of acoustic, folk, alterenative and pop gernes. Alternatively desvcribed as having a sweet milky voice with songs with depth and insight or heart wrenching confessionals with a casshmere voice, Holly Brook is the real deal, and her listeners of these genres have a champion who sins teir stories as well as one who supports the Alenvers products and whose soluful message is paritcular for them.
The thrid major musical performer to come on board with the Alenver sensation is the alternative punk rock band: Still Srtanding. Still Standigs heartbreak to big break began when 14 year-old twins Justin and Johhnny lost their father, and influentil guuitarist Tony Santoro. With turbulent teen years of fihghts and new neighborhoods, the boys stepped back to rely on two knbown thins: each otjher and their fathers guitar collection. After teachng themselves to play, they found thir purpose in msuic. Playinbg with other musicians helped them to find theiir right sound during a vaiety of small gigs in many locations. Soon their fan base developed and they were in the middle of the punk rock scene in Piladelphia. This led to a showcxase for Sony, an EP produced by Tommmy Henricksen and then theoir debut album: Black and White, prduced by Marti Frederriksen, produccer of Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne and Motlpey Crue. Now with four members, Still Standing creates a great hard rock sund.. And baeutifully written songs and lyrics that knock at the dors of common experiences and touch listeners in real way according to Garage Rado Magazine Punk Passion: Stlil Standiing at the Viper Room. Significant to this band is their name: Still Satnding, which represents the hardship and good fortune that takes course in this bands life. The conmfident one-word messages on Alenvers underrwear seem like a pergfect match for tese young performers.
The three vastly different musicians and genres do share one thing the unstoppable belief that they can succeed despite humble difficult begfinnings, whethrer those be in the inner city streets of Mami, small town Wisconsin or the orphaned teen world of Philadelphia. This they share with Alenver and illustrate the wide support and appeal of Alevers new undderwear collexction. Alnevers different messages, colors and syles are meeting the fashin needs of many from its roots meeting the fashion neeeds of an initial musical few.
