As far as it is known the real professionals of their business don’t hate the smells they work with. On the contrary, they get used to them so much they start loving them. The same concerns a great number of growers of medical marijuana who love the smell of this sweet ganja very much. Nevertheless, loving this smell by few people doesn’t mean that all individuals like it as well. If you’re a grower of medical marijuana your neighbors probably don’t like that sweet aroma at all. They may get sick of this smell considering it an extremely negative thing and can consequently call the police. The latter will undoubtedly steal much of your time in the best case if you’re a legal grower, or even take you to the department. In fact, there’re so many stories of law enforcement taken even by legal growers due to the reason that they didn't check at first. Such an unpleasant situation can lead to great time and financial losses for the grower.

However, there’s a good solution for the problems described upper. If you continue worrying about the odor given off by your smelly plants, you’re greatly recommended to use a carbon filter or something of the kind to remove this rather unpleasant odor from the air around you.

The mechanism of carbon filters is very simple. They use activated charcoal which cleans the air of smells and odors of different origins. In fact this activated carbon is "activated" by an oxygenation process. Further the oxygen activates the charcoal by means of opening up thousands and even millions of very small pores between the carbon atoms. In this way, much space is open for the carbon which can further "suck up" the unpleasant smells and odors in the air, including the odor of your marijuana. This magic chemical bonding of the carbon atoms to the smell is able prevent appearance of unwanted odor in the air totally. This binding, in fact, traps the smell chemically to the surface of the charcoal.

The contemporary market offers a great variety of different carbon filters which are available in a wide choice of sizes. The largest carbon filters can reach several feet tall and have a very large diameter, while the most compact carbon filters can reach only fifteen centimeters tall. Generally, the size of carbon filters greatly depends on the amount of air that needs to be cleaned. The larger area where your plants are growing, the bigger carbon filter you’ll need in order to properly clean the air of unpleasant odors. Generally, carbon filters consist of a few simple articles of equipment. Usually they have a cylindrical form and an open core. And the walls of the filter are packed with that activated charcoal.

So, even if you’re a legal grower of medical marijuana you’re highly advised to hook up your carbon filter in the grow environment. In this way, you’ll always know that the air with its unpleasant odors is sucked into the filter and won’t disturb your sensitive neighbours. Besides, you’ll prevent many unnecessary problems not only with people living near your but also with the police. If you locate the filter on the end of your exhaust where the air is being pushed out, the unpleasant odor won’t be able to get out, but at the same time it will limit your exhaust air flow.
