Earning money via online means has become a viable source or revenue for many stay at home moms, Internet entrepreneurs, students, the unemployed, and individuals and companies hoping to start a business venture online.
The Internet has diversified the means of earning money from traditional brick and mortar operations, to the extent that the average Joe can be pitted and compete well against conglomerates and international organisations, even from a simple Adwords campaign, where they don't necessarily have to have a company website or even a product of their own, just a short advertisement showing the pros and cons of the product or the service, and a simple landing page to direct potential customers to the chosen product or service, all achieved with carefully chosen keywords that targets their niche traffic. This is all made feasible by the accessibility the Internet has made their consumer base, with one click of a mouse a potential customer can find the website of an individual, a conglomerate or an internationally renowned organisation.
The average Joe, and large organisations no longer have to waste large amounts of advertising revenue on the previous advertising mediums, of television, radio, newspapers and magazines, in the hope of a sale or acquiring a customer. The Internet has enabled removal of the middle man, organisations and businesses can now target and focus on their customers direct, and the fascinating thing is the Internet is dynamic and is always evolving, be it Myspace, or Facebook, or Youtube, or Twitter, these social networking sites were unheard just a few years ago, but now there are common part of the Internet lingo.
One of the many ways individuals can take advantage of the Internet to earn money is by participating in online surveys. Since companies have realised that they can effectively reduce their advertising budget by moving some if not all parts of their businesses online, they realised that their advertising budget could be better spent compensating individuals who have opted to take part in their focused online surveys, which could range from what features they like a particular product? If they use a particular service? What amendments in a particular product or service would encourage them as consumers to purchase said product? Companies normally hire a third party or intermediate company who sends out their focused surveys and questionnaires to participants who have opted to receive such polls, after analysis of the results, it is sent to the original company who then have a rich amount of data to hopefully implement the amendments and improvements needed in their product or service.
On successful completion of the survey individuals are paid for their valuable time, and the company hopefully has enough data to facilitate its products and services, and possibly acquire new customers through these surveys.
Since companies are focused only on those consumers that can generate a profit for them, or provide some kind of measurability of their performance, some of these online surveys are very particular, and many respondents may find that they may miss out on earning money via this means, since they may not be found suitable for a survey after filling in a few preliminary questions, that filters them out based on their age or other demographic.
