The Irish believe that the color green is the color of luck but it takes more than a lucky shamrock to keep our environment green. It’s hard work keeping the environment green and protecting it for future generations. People everywhere have begun to become more aware of how precious our earth’s resources are. We also know that if we don’t preserve those resources and find ways to stop polluting our environment, the consequences will be severe. From the very young preschoolers who are learning about recycling in preschool to the very old who are using recycled products in their homes, we are all playing a part in saving the environment. Many businesses are doing their part by recycling in the office, buying recycled products for office use and even going so far as to use ‘green’ lighting to work by. Now charities and non-profits are working not only for the people they serve but the environment we all must live in. Charities have gone green and those who work with auto donation are making sure that when you donate a car to them, that car will not sit in a landfill and pollute the land and water.
