Janie Marsh’s story stands out at Goodwill’s website. For years Janie was living in the woods, a drug addict and alcoholic who also got in trouble with the law. After completing a drug program in prison, she worried about how she would find a job. Even Janie knew that it would be tough to find a company that would hire her with her background. Upon Janie’s release she was told to sign up for the Goodwill Job Connection program in her area. Through Goodwill’s job Connection program she found her first job in years, working in landscaping. After only two weeks of leaving prison, Janie was working. That job gave Janie the confidence to decide to pursue a college education in landscape architecture. Janie’s story is nothing at Goodwill. One of the many ways that Goodwill can offer vital programs like the Goodwill Job Connection is through auto donation. When you donate a car to charity like Goodwill you are helping Goodwill to help others turn their lives around. Auto donation is just one way Goodwill raises funds to keep their education, training and career services running. To read this entire article visit here.
