For many months now we have all seen stories about the banking industry in the news. It seems bank after bank has failed and been shut down by the government. On that same note, banks are regulated by the government and therefore can be ‘rescued’ or bailed out by the government. The economy has affected everyone. Many people that during these tough economic times non profit organizations, such as the Red Cross, have also been hit just as hard. The Red Cross. The Red Cross is not a government agency. The Red Cross will not be funded by the government regardless of the economy and therefore it relies on donations, whether it be donations of time, money, blood or auto donations.
