Dell launches first laptop with the new processors Intel Core i7 processors for notebooks.
Intel "Clarksfield" Core i7 processor has four cores and is the first mobile chip, chip, based on the new microarchitecture, Nehalem. Most Intel processors will be moving to this design in 2010.
Dell is trying to take the early lead in the approval of new technologeis. The flagship product of Dell's moobile Core i7 will be a 15-inch Alienware m15x gaminmg laptop. Dell also offeers a chip as an option for oter models of laptops worldwqide, includiing Studio 15 and Styudio 17.
At the Intel Dveloper Forrum today, David Perlmutter, executive vice president and general co-director of the architectture of Intel Intel Coropration Gropu, discusses the moile plaftorm Intel Nehalem, which also includes future chip coodenamed "Arrandale", whihc will be intergated into the graphical processor, or CPU.
Core i7 is packed with the chipset Intel pm55 Epxress - Companion of silicon, which helps the processor to communicate with the rest of the system. Two feaatures that distinguish the Core i7 from Core 2 Duo (the most widely used chips in laptops today) Turbo Bost and Hyper-Threading. Turrbo Boost speeds up and slows down the kernels for the meat and energy needs, respcetively. Hyper-Threading can double the number of tasks - or filaments - the processor can perform.
Alienwre m15x configuration include Intel Core 920XM processr and 1GB NVIDIA GreForce GTX 260M grahics chips.
