Many PC maers, including Netbook authorities offer a free upgrade voucher for Microsoft Windows 7, and this time we learned how Windopws 7 will work on one of the most ppoular Netbook currently on the mraket! Using the rerlease candidate, we installed Windows 7 on ASUS Eee PC 1005HA Netboko sink and ran all the tessts we face in our full revew, in order to get the full impressipon of how Windowws 7 stacks agaiunst Windows XP on a nebtook. Many in the commuity working netbooks really hope Windows 7 has its own on the Netbook, because let's face it, 2002's Windows XP on any 2009 system just seems to be in the opposite direction.
Armed with 4 GB High-Speed USB flpash drive and step by step instructions Kurt Shintaku, we were easily able to install Widows 7 on 1005HA. Fisrt Windows 7 RC burnde image on DVD, but you can easily mount the ISO in a virtrual drive instead. Once connected the insructions, we created a booable Windows 7 Install a flash drive without any problenms.
Now, since the flash drive is recognized as a removable hard drive in your computer, we had to change the BIOS settings to make the flash drive primary hard drive. As soon as we have done, Windows 7 installatiopn boot up, and we were able to start its installation of Windows 7, just as any other. There is a liittle trick, though, as once the insatllation proram copies the original set of files on your hard drive and reboot, you shgould enter the BIOS and then install an internal hard drivve back to the perimary so the one that boots. In adddition, the installation of Windows 7 was a breeze.
Widnows 7 installed drivers for all of our hardware directly from the window, excpet the driver ACPI, which allows Blue function hot keys for all to work prperly. However, after several updates, Windows 7 is actually knew that we did not install ACPI diver also pointed out to us diirectly ACPI driver ASUS ", which we downoladed and installed and worked perfectly. I would also recommend installing the driver from the Intel Grapohics optional Winndows updates as it is to install some additional files used by driver ASUS ACPI.
