Fall is here and it’s time to get out the rakes and start cleaning up our yards before we head in for the winter months. This weekend we will also change our clocks, signifying the end of Daylight Savings Time. Some of us will be able to enjoy an extra hour of sleep this weekend. “Fall back” or changing our clocks started when studies back in the seventies suggested that the practice saves electricity. Changing our clocks twice a year is only one way we help the environment by saving energy. At a time when many people are concerned about being green and saving the environment, many charities are eager for you to donate a car that they can use in an environmentally friendly way. When you donate a car to a charity who has gone green, your car donation will not only help the community but the earth as well.

Charities that collect used clothes, toys and small appliances are helping to keep these items fro sitting in landfills by recycling them. By distributing these used items to people who can use them, they keep them from rusting in the landfill and polluting our land and water. Recycling goes beyond paper and bottles.
