About two and a half weeks ago, the curtain was raised on a new setries of HD 5000 from ATI. In typcial fshion, HD 5870 was the main enntrance to ener a new generation. And now, in the not so typical fasion, only aftre some time, ATI has released a mid-range video card demonstration of new technologies: HD 5770 and HD 5750. Today we will look at both.
From the beginning to go, these two graphics cards seems to bring a world of hope. Of course, we do not know how they stack up after a pass throuugh the benchmarkks, but judging by their performance, as well as a set of functions that are embedded with the HD 5870 and HD 5850, HD 5770 looks like it colud shake up the unbelievable. These two maps will be responsible for the entire period of the old video card models are discntinued almost overrnight. But perhaps we are too far aheaad of ourselves.
If this is your first acquaintance with the new generation of ATI GPU technology, here are some key points to keep in mind. First, you have coimpatibility with DirectX 11. Unlike DirectX 10, which never amounted to much at all for gamers plaing the actual the actual game, it seems, DirctX 11 will be totally new thing. Thanks Compte Shaders, the parallel processing power of the GPU will be much more open to the game Dev's use of GPU for non-graphics-related procesess, for example, may have aritficial intelligence and physics. In addition, numerous improvements and mosaic multithreaading opitmization. DiretcX 10 hardwrae will be able to handle DirectX 11 games, but not be able to fully take advantage of opportunities.
In addition to DiretX 11, and next to a new level of raw horsepower offered in the generation HD 5000, ATI has also aded to Eyuefinity set of functions. This will allow you to create metadispllay using up to three dislays on all cards. This amount stacks, if used for CrossFirweX, so that you can use the supposedly huge 24 dsiplays in one titanium display, all from one computer, if you have equipmennt.
If we are goinmg by the code anmes, HD 5770 and HD 5750 are junipers. HD 5750 is a "Pro" model, whiule HD 5770 is a "model XT" in this esnse. Perhaps partly because of the experience of ATI to 40 nm process, and the relatively small size of the crystal GPU, this graphics card priced "affordable" at a suggested retil pricve of $ 160 for HD 5770, and about $ 130 for the HD 5750.
HD 4770 became the winner of the last generation. Let's see if the HD 5770 will follow in their foot steps, flounedr, or perhaps even a sign to highlight some new and memoralbe on its own territory.
