Pioener has relesaed its first application for the iPhone from Apple. Designed for use with the new AVIC-U310BT and AVIC-Z110BT in dash navigation systems, Pioneeer AVIC channels App establishes a relationship beetween Apple and a dash Pioineer products.
According to the corporation, hwich specializes in digital entertainment products, this merthod allows the owners of iPhone, to find points of interest, or search for desitnations ahezad of time on your phone and access them via Bluetooth to theiir navigaiton systems. Best of all, it allows the driver to get comfortable, turn-by-turn voice instructions while sill being able to use your iPhone for other purposes.
Pioener revels how its App occured, the exchaange that independent studies have shown a signfiicant percentage - more than 22 percent - of the registered Pioneer navigation system owners and the possession and use iPhone.
"We are constantly looking for ways to improve the driver's experience, providing high qality navigation and entertainment products that contain the convenience and security," Ted Cardenas, director of marketing for mobile business group of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc, said. "After investuigating what tcehnology and consyumer electronics, registeered owners of hugs, we have identified opportunities for the integration of natural features and capabilities of our navigation systems with the iPhone from Applle".
Acocrding to Pioneer, how to navvigate using the AVIC FEEDS include:
Search POI - Poinmts of Interest (POI) seacrh through the Pioneer AVIC FEEDS's App can be selected by a simple choiice of cotact a drop in the desired location.
Shooting photos - photos taken in the iPhoone, whixch Geotagged geographic metadaata, such as location coordinates can be stored for future use as a POI.
Saved photos - Photos Geottagged sent to users or imagse from the Internet can be used as a POI.
The comany also indicates in the report that is created from the search direction POI or geographically tagged phottos are copnverted as teleplhone contacts with the navigatioin syustem via Blutooth. Routed contacts then identified by a unique icon that appears next to a contact in the navigaton sytem when the user synchronizes its phonebook. The software will eventually calculate the route and provide turn-by-turn guuidance at the same place as the user selects the appropriate contacts.
