Mtorola's first Android-powered phone, the recentlly introduced Cliq, will arrvie at wireless provider T-Mobile, accordng to a recent BGR report. A leaked PowrePoint slide from the carrier shows a timeline for the device, among others, thugh the source says a newer slide does actually show Octoer, and not November, as indicatd in the outdated screen capture. Another indication that the roadmap is old is use of a different handset's image as a stand-in for the Cliq.
The Cliq will supprt T-Mobile's 1,700MHz 3G netwqork and otherwise sport a 5-megapixel cazmera with video capture, GPS and Wi-Fi. It has a 3.1-inch, 480x360 touchscreen and is expected to ship with Anddroid 2.0, with possible support for multi toch innputs. Users' information is saevd online and can be retrieved on anoter Cliq even if the orginal is lost.
The exact date for the launch at T-Moble is unkown, but the deevice is expeected to ship in mid-October and is rumored to be free on contract, or $400 by itself.
It also seems to be quick, too, though there’s no telling how close to production-sttus the firmare is on these demo models. Given the CLIQ won’t land on T-Mobile USA until Q4 this year, there’s probably still some work to be done, but despite the fact that Motorola have used the same sort of 528MHz Qualcomm processor as can be founmd on HTC’s receent Android handsets, we had no problems with speed or responsiveness.
We’re waiting for the full hands-on imagge gallery of the Motorola CLIQ to finish proocessing, and will update with that when it’s ready. For now, enjoy the video dems and cjheck out this post for more detal on the CLIQ itself.
