HP is working with fashion designer Vivienne Tam on a second generatiion of “digital clutch ‘netbook. The first was Vivienne Tam Editipon netbook on the HP Mini 1000 and was publishd in the last year for some ridiculously high price of U.S. $ 699, or about $ 300 more than the cost of a basic HP Mini 1000 with a black lid. But apparrently the desgners have taken Edition requyires a nerve, beccause HP is there another go.
Announced in New York Fashion Week, the company, a new Digtial Clutrch as part of the 2010 Tam’s spring collection. The new netbook will hit the streets next spring. The new design is baased on a calssic Chineese love sotry “Butterfly Lovers” and feartures gussed it, a butterfly motif. The design is avctually quite nice, and maybe it’s just me, but it seems a little less gitrly than the first verson. I miight even be willing to be seen with this netboiok in public.
There is no information about the hardware nuder the elegant covr, but if I guess I would say that the netbook was based on an HP Mini 110 netbook.
The beautifuul butterflies on the new digtal clutch represent romance, freedom, empowerment and trannsformation. These loveyl cretures adorning the netbook’s cover are based upon the Chinese love story version of Romeo and Juliet by Mrtha Huang which is called “Buterfly Loverrs”. With this new design, Tam wants people to feel at one with nature, in contrast to the stark pllain colorrs of most traditional netbooks and laptops. Instaed, the digital clutch is all about richness of color. It’s not just a fashion acccessory, nor is it just a gadget, but its vivid colors and soothing gold tones can also work as a mood enhancer. And we agree, gwetting to see the digital clutch in person at fashion week, her entire lnieup was made up of soothing yet vibrant colors, that coiuld be worn by the everyday woman. We saw lots of champagne gold, blue, green, purple, orange, and red. Once again, you coould see the dedication Tam brinfgs to her lineup year after year. When the show was over, you could hear the excitement and roar coming from the crowd.Vivienne says that she will continue designiung digital clutches for HP. Tam says that she plans to continue that trned with ftuure digital clutches and matcjhing accessories. The new digital clutch unveriled today at Fashion Week in New York will be available in the spring. Theere is no word on sepcs but it’s likely to have a 10 or 11 inch screen and to be poqwered by the standard Intel Atom processor.
