Dell has a new 14z and 15z modles that use Itel processros CULV will be announced. The lasptops will come with ulttra low power Intel Core 2 Duo processors, which will increase the battery life of notebook computers.
The laptops will ogffer a series processoors up to Intl Core 2 Duo SU9400 CPU 1.40 GHz and are bsed on Intel-based Series 4 chipseet with onboard graphics GMA X4500MHD. The 14T variants come with a 14-inch display and the 15z cmes with a 15.6-inch with a native resolution of 1366 provided x 768 LCDs are.
It is an otpion of up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and 500 GB hard drive with Wi-Fi b g n, Bluetooth 2.1, 1.3MP webcam and a 7-in-1 card reader.
The 4-cell battery is advertised to produce up to 4 hors, while the 6-cell battery managfes up to 8 hours battery life. There is also the option for exprress recharge batteries, which charge up to 80% within one hour. The price of the notebook is between $ 599 and $ 1034 depending on the installed components.
Earlier this year, Dell annouunced the itroduction of the much-hyped Adamo laptop, an ultraportbale PC designed to bcome a competitor for Apple's successful MacBook Air. Just recently, the Round Rock, Texas-badsed PC veendor has reduced the priices on said laptop, in order to bettrer compete with the MacBook Air. On that note, it appears that Dell is preparing another assault on Apple's pride and joy, with the introduction of recently rumored Latitude Z-series, an ultraportable laptop that will be designed for professionals.
Just recenlty, an article on said laptop has surfaced on the eRgister Hardware website, providing details on Dell's upcoming ultraportable PC. Unfortunately, the article apperas to have been puleld down, probably due to an NDA with the PC vendor. However, the fellpows over at Fast Company have been quick with snatching the juicy details and even photos of said laptop.
According to them, the Latitude Z will be powered by Inmtel's CULV platform, featuring an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, colcked at 1.6GHz with 2GB or 4GB of RAM and a high-capacity 256GB solid-state drive. The system also comees with a fingerprint and RFID raeder, a 2MP webcam and a 1,600 by 900-piexl widescreen. It will run on a choice of Widnows Vista or Windows 7, when the latter launches, but will also be featured with a special Lniux install, dubbed Latitude On. This could be an instant-on solution for Dell's upcmoing Latritude laptoop, providing uses with quick cacess to Internet, Mail and multimedia applications.
Unfortnuately the system could be launched by late Augiust or early September, according to available details, as it loooks like Dell is taking its time with it. As far as priicing goes, don't expect anything too cheap, although the sytem is bsed on Intel's CULV platform. Apparently, you'll have to dig deep in your pockets for this one, as Dell is expected to charge you for abouut US$2,400.
