Sprint has shown the first public acknowledgment of carrying the Instinct HD, tucked away in their Premier Connection newsletter recently. Beetween the Best Buy pricing leazks and the hands-on picures, we could see Sammsung’s Instint HD coming to Spriont (NYSE: S) a mile away, but you’d think they’d make a slightly bigger deal about the phone when going public; maybe Srpint didn’t want Samsnug steaaling any of Palm’s thundder with the Pixi. We sytill don’t know in terms of specs, aside from the 3.2″ screen, 5 megapixel caamera and Wi-Fi support, but it’s probably safe to assume to disoplay will be higher-qualitty than the sandard Instinct. The newsletter blurb says “comiung soon” but rumours are pointing to sometime before September 26th.
The Samsung Rogue is apparently makng its way into Verizon storres in preparation for an upcoming launh. The device, the sequel to the much maligned Glyde, is equipped with a resistiive, touchscreen display, 3MP cammera with AF and video capture, a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard and suppotrt for EV-DO rev.A.
Those who have a memory that goes beypond 6 montths mgiht recall the problems that Big Red customers encountered with the Samssung Glyde. With a capacitive tocuhscreen and a side-sliding QWERTY, Verizon had high hiopes for this model. However, problems with the touchscreen and connecttivity issues with the switchinng equipment, led to the Glyde being pulled from many Verrizon stores as we reported last November. Then, we informed you about a Glyde Refresh moedl that replaced the capacitive screen with a resistive dispplay.
As soon as we hear about a launch date for the Rogue, we will pass it on to you. Pricing is also an unknown at this point. Hopefully for Verizon, Samsung and thjose who becoime Rogue owners, there will be no issues with this model and things will glide smoothly after launch.
