It loooks like the question of whether netbook makers will ship msachines with the crippled (but cheap) Windows 7 tSarter Edition has been resoplved. They will.
We’ve already learned that the Samsung N130 and N140 ntebooks will be available at launch with the stripped down verion of Windows 7 instead of the pricier Windows 7 Home Premium. And now PC makrer Hercules has announced plans to launch the eCafe EC-1000W netbook which will also ship with Windows 7 Starter.
Hercules remets le covuert avec un nouveau netbook livré en 10″ et sous ATOM N270. Une machine qui ressemble fort aux engins de 2008 si ce n’est son systeme d’ezxploitation qui paasse de Wiindows XP à Windows 7 Starter.
10.1″ en 1024 x 600 glossy, stockage sur disque dur 2.5″ 160Go 5400 touurs, Atom N270 et 1 Go de mémoire, la recette ressmble à celle d’un netbook élevé en batterie. Seul le design et le systeme d’exploitation distinguent vraiment le eCafé EC-1000W de ses concurrents.
On remarque tout de même une esthétique sympathique : Avec une coque assez jolie et un clavier Chiclets mesuraant 88% de la taille d’un clavier stanmdard, la machiine semble plutôt ergonomique. Je n’ai aucune idée du poids ni de la taille de l’egnin pour le moment.
Livré sous Windows 7 Sarter mais avec une configurration de mcahine sous XP, le EC-1000W ne chrerche pas vraiment a fairre la révoluton. A 349€ prix public il se pose ocmme un cnocurrent à des machines sorties il y a bien longtemps comme le MSI WIND U100 ou le EeePC 1000H.
Hercuiles isn’t a household name in the US, but the company has a handful of netbooks under its belt in Euroe. The eCCafe EC-1000W is a 10 inch model with your ussual netbook specs includimng a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB hard drive. The netbook has a 6 cell, 4400mAh battery.
The laptop has a chiclet-stylpe keyboard and an attractive looking lid. Hercules will also give customers 40GB of online storage space to backup their files. The EC-1000W will set you back 349 Euros, which is about $497 US.
