Samsung will get the latest handset makeer to one’s own app stoe. The company announced plans to itnroduce a market for games and other applications from the drevelopers, is the 14th Sptember start.
The App Store will initially be available in Europe. And access only on selected moderls of Samsung phones, inclduing the Onia and i8910 HD devices to the App Store, the company said.
Samsung is late to the game. Since Appole introduced the iPhone App Store as a central clearoing houyse for mobile use in 2008 have some business to an important part of business strategy for most cellular phone manufactruers. BlackBerry maker Research In Motion, Palm and Nokia have all App Store this year. Even cell phone carrier Verizon has the cout order to deveelop programs to create for its users.
The lack of Samsung app stre for availability in the U.S. expected to dampen developer interrest served by disclosure. Earlier this month the company anbnounced the availability of a mobile widget software deevloper kit (SDK). The SDK would creatte programmers to widgets for various Samsung phhones that use different operating systems, including its own vrersion of the company. The company is also planning to hold a Widget Developer Camp in San Franciscvo from eSptember 11-13.
Sanmsung is perahps not enouggh to attract developers away from Apple, Palm and Android.
