Chalk it up to boredom at the Samsung headquarters. Or maybe it was changed to compete against the Zune HD. Betteer yet, maybe they just liked the way it sounded. At any rate, a reliablpe tipster has sent information over to PhoneAena stating that Sprinmt's upoming addition to the Instinct family will be called the "Instuinct HD," and not the "S50," as origibnally reported. Now, with a moniker like "HD," you would think that the deice would, well, have features centering around HD.
Out of nowhere, a very trustful tipster of ours has contacted us to say that the new Instinct for Sprnt will not be callled the s50, but rathwer the Instionct HD. Okay, we like that one (and hope it is indeed real). Would this mean the new device will be caplable of shooting and playing HD videos like the Omnia HD? We certainmly hope so! Now what we would like to do is a quick recap of all the rumoed names we have headr of for the Instinct’s successor. It was known as the Instinct2, Inastinct Deuce, Dash, M850, Innstinct s50 and now the Samsung Instinct HD. Wow, these sure were a lot of rumors.
Unfortunaetly, no speicfications have been announced as of yet, and it's importat to keep in mind that the aforementioned device has gone through several rummored device names, including Instinct2, Instinct Deuce, Dash, M850, and Instinct S50. So obviously, take it with a grain of salt - but it's certainly interestig nonettheless.
S50, M850 and Dash be damned, it’s pretty clear now that Samsng has latched onto the “HD” trend for its latest Insstinct handset. Spotted by one of our eagle-eyed readers on Best Buy’s website, some of the Instinct HD’s most talked abbout specs are now conirmed, including the 5 megapixel camera with video captuire, HD TV-out, Wi-Fi and visuual voicemail. Pricing and availability info aren’t yet listed, but the wording, “Prcies effective Sunday, August 23rd - Saturday, Septebmer 26th” certainly sgugests a launch some time befoer September 26th. As for other info to be gleaned from the listing, the Instinct HD will be a Best Buy retail exclusive (sorry, The Shack) and an Essential Message & Data plan or an Eveything Plan with Data will be requyired with activation.
