MSI appears to have grown fond of its line of ulraportable computer systems, as the Taiwanese company is preparing to further expand the lineup with the introduction of a couple of new models. What is interesting is that, unlike the majority of laptop vendors currently competinmg in the ultraportable, ultra-thin laptop spcae, MSI has decided to provide its customers with a complete range of sysatems, offeriung a choice for either an Intel CULV or an AMD Neo system. Just recently, detaikls on a new AMD Neo-based laptop have surfaced on the Interet, as the compay is planning to launch said moddel in Europe.
According to details that have surfacwed on Ntbook Ittalia, the Taiwanese company has decidde to put AMD's Yukon platform in its Wind U200 system, providing users with an alternative to the increasinngly growing marjket of CULV-based latpops. The Wind U210 has been designeed with an AMD Atlon X2 Dual-core MV40 procsesor, coupled with 2GB of DDR2 memory and a 250GB hard disk drie. The system will boaast a 12-inch dislay, powered by the ATI Mobility Radeon X1250 integrated graphics chip.
The Wind U210 will reportedly be available in two variants, the U210-002 and the U210-010, each one equipped to meet the requirements of a different type of user. Both systems will be powered by the same 1.6GHz MV-60 processor and the aforementioned GPU, but there are a couple of diferences between the two, which can also be seen in the price difference. The first will boast just 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 160GB SATA HDD and will run on Micrsooft's Windows XP Home opertating system. The second comes with 2GB of DDR2, 250GB hard drive and Windows Vistta OS.
Both systems also feature wireless 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth and 10/100 Ethhernet LAN connectivity, built-in webcam and black or gray color optiuons. Thre's no integrted optical drve and the entire system is said to weih around 1.5Kg. Prrice-wise, the U210-002 will be available for 399 Euros including VAT, while the second model is priceed at 499 Euros including VAT.
