Free stuff on Craigslist, free things on Craigslist, Craigslist free, Craigslist.org, free things
So, today’s the day you happened to look around your house and realized it was filled with junk. Where did all this crap come from? How can you get rid of it? You can get rid of it on Craigslist.org. If you don’t want to make a little bit of extra money, don’t sell but rather offer your items for free. Craigslist has a free section. But wait! What should or shouldn’t you do when listing items there.
Be smart. You might be surprised with some of the junk listed on Craigslist. It is that couch from 1989 with cat claw marks, ice cream stains, burnt cigarette markings and so forth. Guess what? These people know full well they probably won’t get any takers, but figure what the heck. They are likely too lazy just to drag the item to the side of the road for trash pickup. These people clutter Craigslist and infuriate readers, so if it belongs in the trash put it in the trash.
Include a picture. Yes, you aren’t getting anything in return for taking that picture, but the entire process of taking and uploading will take less than five minutes. Even with free stuff, people like to know they are getting a good deal. Plus, this will prevent all those annoying messages from people who want to know what your free coffeemaker looks like.
Include a phone number. You can include your email address too, but only if you check it often. Free stuff, especially when it is in decent shape, will go quickly. Begin checking your email or expect to get phone calls within just a few hours of making your post on Craigslist. Of course, you can publish your physical address, but do you really want random people showing up at your door? Which leads to the next tip...
Avoid curb alerts. A curb alert is when you place items outside, provide your address, and say “whoever gets here first, gets the goods.” This is bad for a couple of different reasons. What if it rains? No one wants rain soaked stuff (even free stuff). Plus, you are likely to get many people showing up at your door. Even though you said “when it is gone, it is gone,” expect lots of people to ring your doorbell just to make sure. This is annoying as annoying can be.
By implementing the above mentioned tips, you can de-clutter your house on Craigslist. These tips make it possible for people to want your free stuff without a huge hassle or inconvenience for you.
