Get Started with a Craigslist Search
To get started, you want to perform a search on Craigslist. Searching is better than browsing because you are looking for something in particular; parts for a specific make, model, and year. From the Craigslist home page, select your location. This is your local Craigslist page. Look to the left and you will see a search box. Type in what you are looking for, like Mercedes wheel rims and so forth. Your next page will contain a list of your search results. If anyone had rims for a Mercedes car, they will appear. If you like the price, contact the seller.

You may also be able to find junk vehicles that you can use for an almost endless supply of parts and accessories. Even if something big like the engine or transmission goes, there are still hundreds of other salvageable parts and accessories. So, don’t just limit your search to particular car parts, but see if any junk cars are available too.

Car parts can be tricky to find on Craigslist, especially since you are looking for a particular make, model, and year. You may want to expand your search to other location pages. You can opt to search all of Craigslist, your entire state, or just a few cities to either find auto parts or junk cars that you can use for parts.
