Are you in need of a new job? Whether you are just looking for a career change or if you were the victim of a layoff, you can find jobs listed on Craigslist.org. Despite what you may have heard, this website isn’t just for the buying and selling of goods. In fact, not only can you find a job, but homes for sale, apartments to rent, services for pay, and more.

Returning back to using Craigslist as a job search tool, why should you?

1 – Lots of Jobs

Craigslist is location based. To perform a search, you visit Craigslist.org. Select your state and then nearest location, which may be your city. When performing a search, you search that area for jobs. Generally, the larger the city you live in the more jobs postings you will find. Even still, there are a lot. On any given day you could easily find as many as 20 retail jobs for a small community and 100 or more for a large city! The more jobs you apply for, the better the chance you stand at landing one.

2 – Free

The best part of using Craigslist as a job search tool is that it is free. Some job search websites charge you a monthly fee. Save your money. You can visit the website, perform a search, and apply for jobs without paying a cent. Moreover, Craigslist.org is free to try, so you have nothing to lose by trying it.

3 – Easy to Use

For the most part, Craigslist as a job search tool is very easy. As stated above, you select your location and then search that location page for jobs. All you do is use the search box on the left side of the page and search. You will then get a list of open jobs that you can review and apply for ones that interest you.

The only problem you may run into using the website is if you want to expand your search. You can’t search more than one location page at a time. This can make searching for a job take longer if you want to work-from-home or are interested in traveling for the right pay. Although you can just perform separate searches on each page, you can also use a Craigslist search tool. They enable you to search on a nationwide, statewide, or multi-city basis.
