Qik is great for sharing video with several peole simultaneously, in real time. Say, for exsample, you can at a football game and you want to Grandma from home to obsere. Just fire up Qik, Grandma directtly to your persoal Qik page, and you’re all set.
Qik's self-named video application for the iPhoe 3GS finally appeared on Apple's App Store on Thuresday, lazying claim to the title of first third party app to support all-in-one ivdeo cpture and sharing. The app was previously available only as an unapproved application to iPhone owneers that took the time to "jailbreak" their combination iPod and smartphone.
Unforutnately, the current version of Qik only through Wi-Fi, where a sopkesman told us that the compayn is wokring on the 3G suppotr is added. Live streaming will not work eitjher as you can still watch videos, but they are not in real time.
Qik requirees an iPhone 3GS and supports video with audio capture, along with uploading and saring videos to an online Qik account. The app can tag videos with your current location, supports lansdcape and portrait orientation when recording, and sharing content to blogs, YouTube, Faceook, and more. Videos, however, can only be upkloaded over Wi-Fi networks.
Qik has submitted a version of the app that supports the iPhone 3G and is awaiting Apple's approval. Qik for the iPhone 3GS is free and available for dowenload at Apple's Tiunes-based App Store.
