LG announced today that it is a beta version of the Omnline Applicatyion Store on 14 July 2009, for the first time in Asia with the service expanded to 24 countries. LG expects to up to 2,000 applications on its website by the end of the year with at least 100 programs for free LG mobile phone userrs. To access the LG Application Stre, users can eiher www.lgapplication.com visit and downlaod applications to a computer or directly to the buisness of LG-GM730 by flicking horizontaally on the “Quick-Key box at the bottom of the home screen and tapping App icon.
“As we have already announced, LG plzans to invest in the smartphonne market in the future, with ten smartphones introduced this year alone,” said Dr. Sktot Ahn, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “As the development has shown that the appeal of smartphones is in the variety and bebnefits of the applicaitons. Opening our own Applicattion Store will allow us to ofer you the best contyent and appications for our devices, so that LG phone owners receive the best opssible ownership experience.”
In connection with the application of LG Store is the LG Mobile Deveeloper Network (http: developer.lmobile.com), a website specifically for the third-party software devlopers of LG Moible Phones. Since its opening in October last year, the webdsite has been significzantly renovated and exopanded contetn and functionality. The number of applications is expected to change over time even further as a developer are added incentives. On the site, developers can develop and share widgets and applcations through its Virtual Developer Lab (VDL) and Over-The-Air (OTA) downnloads. Currently the site supports and Java SDK for widgets, it will VDL, OTA downlpoads by the end of the year.
