Moles are dark marks of varying sizes that appear on the surface of the skin. Some moles may grow on the face of an individual or on the skin at other parts of the body which may be concealed by the clothes one wears. These spots may appear at child birth or as one grows. Some moles have cancerous tissues making them harmful to an individual. This makes many keen on mole treatment in case they are of a cancerous nature.

Some of the moles are small and may also be referred to as beauty spots. On the other hand, some moles are big. In the world of today, many people are very cautious of their appearance and such skin defects cause emotional problems. These problems include lowering of the self esteem of an individual which affects their confidence. It has been noted that most people who go for mole removal treatment do so for cosmetic reasons. Most non cancerous moles do not affect the health of the individual thus one may go for mole treatment mainly for cosmetic reasons.

The cause of moles has not been clearly defined but it has been proven to be influenced by genetic factors. These skin growths may be common in a particular family due to the passing down of the genes from parent to child. Also, it has been observed that exposure to the sun contributes to development of this skin problem.

Different people go for mole treatment for different reasons. Most of the people accessing this health service do it to improve their appearance. However, other people do it to get rid of the discomfort that comes from the moles. This skin problem makes shaving difficult and painful.

It is important to note that screening is important so as to establish if they are cancerous in nature. In such cases, the doctors or dermatologists take tissue samples for screening so as to establish presence of any cancerous tissues. Today, there are different treatment methods which have been developed to deal with this skin problem. This method is not so expensive and time consuming when removing a small number. Also, the healing process takes a short time.

The other common method is the surgical removal method where the mole is cut out from the skin. The excision is made using a surgical blade by the surgeon. In some cases the surgeon would cut the mole plus the skin around it depending on the depth of the mole. When a deep cut is done, the surgeon may finish by stitching up the whole wound to allow fast healing. This method is common and is not expensive.

In some cases the surgeon can cut the mole off without cutting deep into the skin. This method heals relatively faster and is not very expensive to get done. Laser removal is more expensive compared to the surgical removal method. The laser method is known for its clean cut and less scars.

Many patients can develop infections from the wounds developed from cutting of the moles. Also, a number of patients have allergic reactions to the anesthesia used. In some cases nerves are damaged during the removal process.
