Nowadays, camping is a popular activity among young and older people, but it’s extremely important to be completely ready for it and to have all the necessary camping gear. So, before heading out on your trip it’s important to check if there’s all the needed camping gear to make the trip really impressive.

No matter if you’re heading into the wild places or going to tent camp at a camp ground, possessing the necessary equipment will guarantee you’ll cover any difficult and unpredicted event. A high-quality tent is the first thing you’ll need. Nowadays, you’re offered a great variety of designs, shapes, and sizes. While choosing a tent it's important to consider the number of people who are going to accompany you on the trip and to sleep under one roof. Secondly, decide how much time you're going to use the tent.

Kinds of Camping Tents

Camping tents are classified into: three-season, four-season, and all season. The three-season tent may be used in autumn, summer and spring, the four-season tent will also work for extremely low temperatures, and the all season tent is usually known as a family or car tent.

Beside the seasonal classification, there’re also backpacking tents and regular tents. Backpacking tents have small weight and may be easily set-up. The largest backpacking tent is a three-men tent. Thus, two people will have plenty of room and the third one may accompany them. Regular tents are designed for car/truck camping if you’re going to live at a campground.

Choosing The Right Size Of A Camping Tent

The size and weight of a tent isn’t that important before you start carrying it to the campsite and it is easily placed in your vehicle together with other camping gear.

Tent capacity depends on the number of people who may sleep in it. For instance, a two-men tent can accommodate only two people. A good rule for you to remember is choose a camping tent having a capacity of two people more than those who will use it. Thus, you’ll have enough space to store your gear as well. If you're going camping with your family, a multi-room tent will be perfect. Multi-room tents may have two-room styles, where the rooms are separated by an inside tent wall having a zippered door. The three-room design offers two rooms and an extra screen room which is designed for storage and for changing clothes, playing games, etc.

Consider the following features as well:

A one piece waterproof tub floor keeping water out
A rainfly to avoid the rain penetration
Folded seams and double stitching to avoid the rain penetration
Noseeum meshing to keep insects away
Heavy duty zippers excellent for frequent use

If it rains when you're camping and consequently your tent is damp, it’s necessary to set-up the tent in your yard and to air it out properly when you’ve come back home. Thus, you’ll avoid mildew and mold. Good luck!
