Water Fountains are sometimes called Drinking Water Fountains and intend to offer drinking water in the same way as a water cooler. Water Fountains are connected to the general water supply and have a basin arrangement with a Tap or Bubbler working either continuously running water or when it’s needed.

Usually, Drinking Water Fountains are used in colleges, schools, sports centers, etc. They are generally made from stainless steel and may include carbon filters necessary for removing taste and unpleasant odors from the water. They sometimes have a chilling system reducing the water temperature.

But what are the advantages of having a Water Fountain than a Bottled Water Cooler? With their basins, waste systems and robust stainless steel bodywork Water Fountains are perfect for constant usage, for instance, at schools and sports centers.

Sometimes Water Fountains are called unattractive in comparison with some bottled water coolers or plumbed in machines, but the systems are extremely functional, they don’t require bottled delivery and some special care and may be left unsupervised as they may remain without usage for a long time.

Many Drinking Fountains have a carbon based filter and a coil on coil chilling system allowing the system to dispense a great amount of fresh cold water. This is what most water coolers can’t do. The greater number of fountains can dispense more than twenty-five liters of chilled water per hour and those systems with a pumped waste system can dispense even fifty liters of chilled water per hour.

Drinking Water Fountains are the best option for schools as it gives an excellent opportunity for children to drink water any time they want to.
According to the research children don’t drink enough water at school as there is poor access to drinking water in schools. Water can remove the tiredness of pupils and improve their concentration abilities.

Bottled water coolers aren’t convenient for schools as the price for the bottled delivery is rather high, and it’s not good for delivery people to throw away bottles within the school grounds. Besides, the bottles require much room. The advantages of plumbed in water systems at schools are:

- A constant supply of water
- Savings on the price of running a bottle fed system
- No need to deliver bottles
- No need to store the bottles
- No need to change heavy bottles

All water systems like bottled systems need special maintenance including systematic sanitization and filter changes. But fountains need installation that is rather simple for anyone with good DIY skills, and all schools have the workers able to do it.

Nowadays, there are numerous websites offering water fountains for sale. You may directly purchase the fountains for those schools which don’t wish to be tied into a rental contract requiring regular monthly payments.

Nowadays, people wish to place a drinking water fountain outside and it’s quite possible as well. However, there’re wall mounted sinks perfect for outdoor use.
