These are questions that are commonly asked by couples who would like to conform to the proper wedding etiquette on that special day of theirs.

Where should I sit when I am in the place of worship?

If you are a Christian, then it’s traditional for the groom to sit on the left side and the bride on the right.

If you are a practicing Jew, then it’s the opposite. The left is for the groom, and the right is for the bride.

What is the proper wedding etiquette order for the attendants who are to walk down the aisle?

The best man and the groom are to be already positioned at the altar

Groomsmen is to go first
Bridesmaids are to follow in second
With the maid of honour
Ring bearer and flower girl
Lastly you have the bride walking in with her father or other escort, or possibly in by herself

If the bride has children is it possible for her to wear white?

According to wedding etiquette, the bride shouldn’t wear white if she already has children. Wedding ceremony etiquette also states that a woman who already has children should also refrain from wearing a veil during her wedding day. Other headpiece types are fine. Off-white gowns are encouraged to be worn by brides who already have kids.

The bride walks down the aisle with her father, but which side should she be on?

According to wedding traditional, the bride is to walk on the left side of her father. With that in mind, it’s also important to note that the parents of the bride will be seated on the left side of the place of worship. This will mean that the father will be required to step over the bride in order to seat down.

What is the proper usage of the veil during a wedding ceremony?

It’s traditional for the maid of honour to assist the bride in putting the veil on before she takes the walk down the aisle.

The father of the bride is to accompany her down the aisle, and then lifts the veil up to kiss his daughter.

What should the bride do with the engagement ring she received?

Before the ceremony for the wedding begins, the bride should position the engagement ring on the ring finger of her right hand.

Once the wedding ring has been slipped onto the wife’s hand by the groom, the bride can then slip her engagement ring over her new wedding ring. The wedding ring should always be positioned first, because of what it symbolises.
