Despite the fact that the name implies meal in the morning, a wedding breakfast is actually quite distinct from an actual breakfast. The breakfast is one of the most important occasions that will follow any wedding. As the name may suggest, it’s basically the breaking of a fast. In this situation, it basically entails the bride and groom fasting before the wedding. The breakfast that both partners have is the meal that will break their fast leading up to the wedding ceremony.

It’s quite obvious why the wedding breakfast should be given as much importance as it is typically given. It’s a meal that is very important for both the bride and groom as it is pretty much the first meal that they will have together as legal wedded partners. When you think about the significance of this part of the wedding, you should be able to understand why the breakfast has its own set of traditional conventions and protocols of etiquette.

Another aspect of the wedding breakfast that is very important is that it’s an occasion for the family. It is an occasion that happens just the once, where family members who have played some role in the wedding ceremony, is there. In addition, the families of both the groom and bride will eat together for the very first time, after their son and daughter have officially married. For this reason, it is very important that the breakfast of the wedding is properly organised so that those who attend the breakfast enjoy it, rather than it being disorganised and uncomfortable for the newlywed.

There are a number of rules attributed to the breakfast. The seats for the event are typically divided into the receiving line and top table. The top table is positioned facing the guests, which is along the receiving line; this line is primarily made up of the families of both the bride and groom. It’s traditional for the groom to sit on the right next to the bride.

The three traditional toasts is another important component of the breakfast. A response to these three toasts is typically undertaken by the groom before his bride, followed by the best man who does it before of all the bridesmaids. The toastmaster in attendances is there to ensure that all etiquette is properly followed during the breakfast event.

In short, the wedding breakfast is basically the opening meal for a newlywed couple.
