The oil painting galleries are the famous mode of putting number of thoughts by different artists on a canvas. They are admired every onlooker irrespective of the liking to paintings as an art. The choice and variations in colour are vast. This article aims at making a flower painting a beautiful inclusion in the aesthetic sense of oil painting galleries by artists. The flowers painting can draw the inspiration both from nature as well as from the photographs. These serve both as stylish decorations in home or office and also as a gift to someone special.

The photographs of the flower which needs to be depicted on the oil paintings galleries have to be collected with different angles. Each of the photographs so collected may not be used during the process of paintings, but the collection will go a long way in deciding the exact angle in which the artist wishes to come out with the final product.

The basic shape of the flower should be drawn using a thin brush or a pencil on the canvas. The background of the flower should first be finished using a medium brush. A wave of turpentine will enhance the beauty and solidity of the object. The primary shapes will be washed away with this stroke of turpentine. Then go ahead with painting the actual flower using another brush. At this stage, minute details like the petals, buds and leaves should be taken care of. The even more peculiar details like the grooves on leaves and the like can be left for the time being.

Then the shadows and the highlights of the whole canvas should be added. The colour combinations for the light and shadows may take a while as the artist will have to wait till the paint on the flower and the background dries up. Painting with oils is a difficult task and especially with the wet oil paint surfaces makes the task tougher.

Once done with the process above, then the painter can go ahead with running into smaller details of the painting such as the edges to the leaves, grooves on leaves and the water drops on the petals. A small brush should be used for the purpose, using a large or medium brush might disturb the balance in other objects on the canvas.

After this, the painter can leave the canvas for the time being. After a short gap which may run into days or hours, the painter can come back afresh and add certain fresh thoughts which might have cropped up during the gap.
