It is not compulsory to wear them during the training but they need to be necessarily worn during the competition. It is however advisable to wear them during training as well. The hands get further protection if they are used.

One should always go for the gloves of excellent quality for them to last for a longer duartion. Taking the safety of the opponent into consideration is very essential.
