Today’s homebuyers are very picky, and with the real estate market that exists today, it makes sense for them to be so. The buyer’s market term doesn’t come anywhere close to explain the state of the market today, the market has far passed that. One of the things that many people are looking for is homes that they can immediately move into, rooms that are able to serve multiple functions, decks, outdoor living spaces, patios etc. Luxurious items are also high on their priority list, like top appliances, expensive countertops, and garden tubs. There are even some buyers who have decided to go old school and look for well maintained homes that offer the most value for their price.

Move in condition

The vast majority of buyers today are looking for properties that are in good condition. They want to put their money into purchasing a home without having to worry about additional expenses. The homebuyer of today has limited funds, so the idea of purchasing a home that they will have to fix up is no longer something that is done. Most buyers today will come into a deal with just enough money to buy the home, nothing else. They do not have additional funds that they can use to fix any issues that they find with the home.

Bargains

The idea behind finding bargain homes is nothing new, but it’s something that is sought after a great deal today. The buyer today is focused a great deal on negotiating and has a plan of how they intend to acquire said property before they begin any negotiations. It tends to be an issue of pride for many people, especially for those who are first time buyers, as people like the idea of bragging to friends and family about the deal they were able to secure on their new home.

They want to get the most value for their money and can afford to be more stringent in to market that we have today. The best sellers will stage, clean and update their property for the right sale, removing anything that could prove to be an obstacle for buyers. This ideology also applies to homes owned by banks that have been foreclosed. They do not expect to have to invest additional funds into painting, upgrading and cleaning the home.

Outdoor living

Over the past few years we have witnessed many buyers gravitate towards homes that have their own outdoor living area, in the form of outdoor kitchens, screened porches and two-way fireplaces. A property that is able to offer this kind of amenity will sit pretty in the market as they are excellent selling points.
