An imminent danger or risk triggers a stressful emotion known as fear. It is an innate survival mechanism which responds to a particular stimulus like danger or pain. Though, there are those who are paralyzed by fear and are not able to step forward to the realization of their objectives.
Fear is the sole condition that separates you from what you wish to achieve in life. Ever wanted to do surfing on the beach but never tried? That's fear. Or maybe even travel alone for an adventure but didn't even start packing? That is one more manifestation of being afraid. Ever wonder what could have been if you simply made the move for a muse? That's fear right there.
Fear usually springs from the idea that something terrible could and/or would occur once you do something. There are many types of fear such as: fear of addressing a crowd, fear of sticking to one's principles and being left out and fear of accepting an unknown commitment. The most common one is the fear of rejection or appearing stupid. We usually are afraid of being unaccepted or viewed as worthless or unworthy. Several of these, however, are but a product of the mind and environmental factors.
Every day we are subject to commercials, TV shows, news and a lot of information saying we ought to look like this and we must dress like that. Someone who does not know where he/she stands is always in the need for acceptance. This is because of the factors involved in peer pressure. It is a lot easier to just go with the flow as this'll mask fears. Yet, everybody needs to stand for what one believes. This is where self confidence starts to grow.
Gaining self-confidence is as simple as saying "YES I CAN!" Its like having that switch button which can be turned on whenever there is a problem or a chance coming your way. Self confidence assists you get out of your comfort zone and explore various options you have. This is a journey of self discovery. Learning a lot more about you, such as your strengths, weaknesses, dreams and goals are the keys to individual development.
Gaining self confidence is a pre requisite for fearless living. You could face your fears and achieve your goals only if you are sure about yourself and have that certain strong trust in your abilities to succeed. By having self confidence, you can likewise teach other people how you give out such a positive energy. Self confidence is your key to being a life coach. Other people will certainly learn more from looking at your example and trust in themselves more.
