Guildford in Surrey in the south of the United Kingdom is noted for being a fine town to visit, with many attractions in and around the area. The town is also an excellent place for businesses to relocate to, and for people to work in and to live in. Many businesses that start up or relocate to the town find that the local council is very supportive, and there are many good and knowledgeable suppliers of services such as IT and telecommunication services.

Guildford railway station has a fast and regular service to Waterloo in central London, which takes around thirty minutes each way, and therefore means that many people are able to easily commute to jobs in London from the town. Equally, the M25 motorway is conveniently accessed from the town which gives drivers relatively easy access to areas such as the North of England and beyond.

The residential accommodation in Guildford has something for everyone. Part of the Stockbroker Belt, the area is well known as a region of affluence and fine living. There are large gated mansions in the vicinity of the town which offer fine living for people, like stockbrokers, who have sufficient funds to enable them to purchase or rent such properties.

These gated mansions have many attractions for those lucky people who have sufficient money to be in a position to be able to afford them. Many of these mansions in the Guildford area have a sophisticated security system which enables the homeowner to see who is outside their high, locked gates. The homeowner can talk to the person at the gate to see whether they wish to grant them access to their property.

Another attraction of the gated mansions in Guildford is the extensive and delightful grounds that they have. Many of these private grounds are like parks with wildlife and superb landscaping. Such grounds can provide a real inspiration to the homeowner and their visitors, when either viewed from inside the mansion or when walking around or driving around the grounds, either on a bike, on a golf buggy or in a car. As the grounds are surrounded by high fences and the latest security systems, the property owner can feel safe and secure in the house and when going around their fine grounds and gardens.

When it comes to the mansions in Guildford themselves, their interiors can be wonderful examples of fine interior design. Sweeping staircases are often a part of the interior, which can add a real sense of grandeur for people entering the house. In many cases the staircase is in front of the main entrance to the mansion, and there is an exposed landing so that all the rooms on both the ground and upper floor have doors that open in view of the front door. These types of mansion are becoming very popular in the United Kingdom. This design was brought over to this country by house designers who saw these designs being successfully deployed in the United States of America.
