The satellite navigation or sat nav refers to the satellite aided movement and tracking system. This system was earlier used for the military and espionage activities but is now commercially available for the common man. As the name suggests, you can get the aids to navigation and movements using this system which could be installed in the cars or other automobiles or can even be had in the mobiles and be held in the hands. These aids to navigation have been of good help in defining and mapping the routes of the transportation systems world over, on the continental lands and on the high seas.

The modern sat nav systems can be controlled remotely. So, with the help of a computer software you can easily get all the data on vehicular movements on your notebooks or computer systems at home or in office. The use of these systems has meant that the computer can be converted into a control centre for managing your fleet of cars, trucks, ships and other vehicles. The connectivity has been wireless or wired. The trend of technology is more in the direction of providing the remote connectivity among the different digital devices. These devices could be belonging to consumer electronics or entertainment products.

The improvement in the audio-visual systems has also meant that there are greater numbers of functions incorporated in the devices and at the same time the quality of the pictures, videos and sound has been amazingly clear. The delivery the quality output has been made possible by the improvements in the data transfer and reception technologies of the different devices. The networking cables of the computer systems and the TV cables with single port operation have been able to retain the quality of input and output transmissions of the data. These advanced cables allow the high bandwidth data transfers without significant loss of clarity or other quality parameters.

Yet another advantage is in terms of the reduction of the clutter of wires. This clutter was a major headache for the home owners and offices since a number of these wires were required to be connected with the different devices. The present devices require only a very few of these wires since most of these functions can be accomplished by using very few wires only. Simultaneously, there has been good progress on the wireless connectivity as well. With remote controlled operations, you can use the Nintendo WII gaming consoles to play the games or for sat nav operations to be controlled from the personal notebooks or even the handheld mobiles.

With the kind of inter-connectivity among the devices that is being achieved, there is no doubt that we are moving from the home-based office to the handheld mobile office. The companies at the forefront of researching on different products of entertainment and working on continuously evolving technologies, like the Sony, strive to make better feature, more convenient to use and practical products. With new companies working in the niche segments, the competition will get hotter still.
