Every day, millions of men and women suffer from symptoms of panic attacks. When the person doesn't know it's a panic attack as opposed to something else, it can be especially difficult. The problem is these attacks can occur without any advanced notice.
Even more terrifying, they can strike while you are sleeping. For people not familiar with panic attacks, the fear tends to be out of proportion to the symptoms. We will be taking a look at a few of the many possible symptoms of a panic attack.
Because there are so many possible symptoms for panic attacks, it is impossible to know which ones a person will actually experience. Because of this, cases will vary greatly from each other. In some cases, a person will experience extreme fear that borders on absolute terror. Understandably, this symptom can cause extreme stress. Feelings of impending death can also be part of the extreme terror. This is a horribly disruptive experience for anyone but especially for those with a delicate disposition. If struck with this overwhelming feeling, it would naturally be difficult to know what to think.
Another symptom of a panic attack is sudden blurry vision. This, like certain others, can be dangerous for obvious reasons. If you're driving your car and your vision suddenly becomes very blurry, the risks are potentially serious. Also, blurry vision can occur when a person is having a stroke. Letting your doctor know about the more serious symptoms of a panic attack will allow them to do any further testing and evaluation that may be necessary. Some eye infections also have blurry vision as a symptom, as well as extreme tunnel vision. So that is another potential point of possible confusion.
Feeling like you're choking is one of the more dire sorts of panic attack symptoms. This is especially terrifying because a panic attack can last close to fifteen minutes. But the symptoms can unfortunately last longer, sometimes. So it is highly stressful to feel as if you're choking, even though you're not. You would be rightly stressed out by such symptoms, especially if you've never felt them before.
Panic attack symptoms affect men and women of all ages, and younger people can experience them as well.
Much depends on how frequent the symptoms occur.
