The painting could look odd to several of you, but it's a terribly deep which means if observed through both mind and heart.
It depicts a fetus-like head lying on the ground. It appears as if a fish had been washed ashore and when struggling a heap, is destined to death now. Then there are four watches in this painting; 3 of them seem to be molted. The fourth watch does not look deformed; it's orange in color and is lying on a table-like object. On the watch, you may find ants that appear attracted towards the center of the orange watch as if they need found something of their interest at the point.
This outstanding painting by Dali has earned him world-wide recognition at age 27. Different people might interpret the painting differently. The that means of this painting is truly open for interpretation. Here I am writing recognizing interpretation done by majority of people.
The painting looks disturbing along with and arousing curiosity among the viewers. Well, this is the specialty of Dali. His paintings sometimes depict ideas that lie on the sting between being curiosity and disturbance. His paintings speak for themselves; thus is that this one.
The title of the painting 'The persistence of Memory truly speaks for itself as it's tough to forget this painting and feelings when observing its contents. The landscape during this painting resemble Port Lligat-the home of Salvador Dali. Terribly typically, Dali used such sandy beaches destroyed by recent sail boats and alternative pictures he had seen as a kid in his home town.
Not to forget amidst all these factors may be a very necessary reality concerning Dali. He was a thinker too. He also had a heap of interest in science and psychology. This painting is additionally nothing else than a collection of ideas that are connected with dreams, perception of reality, time, birth, death, etc. The ants that appear as if attacking the orange clock during a means indicate the anxiety related with time.
As said above, The Persistence of Memory might have several interpretations-both meaningful and elusive. It's left to us by Dali to interpret the painting in the way we tend to see it. Dali usually known as his paintings 'hand-painted dream images'. Terribly really said by him is what with that I conclude this article.
