The Many Faces of Autism
There is an aphorism concerning autism having several faces and this is indeed true. All autistic people, whether or not youngsters or adults, are individuals with their own temperament traits, symptoms, challenges and needs. However, if you or your kid are diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum, then you may have one of 5 types of autism spectrum disorder:-
? Asperger Syndrome
? Childhood Disintegrative Disorder
? PDD-NOS or Pervasive Developmental Disorder (Not Otherwise Specified)
? Rett Syndrome
? Autism - Additionally called SLD Autism or Kanner's Syndrome

Sufferers of every of these five autism spectrum disorders share a "triad of impairments", or three common characteristics, though with varying degrees. All three of those common impairments are to do with socialization and social skills.
The Triad of Impairments
one) Problem with Interaction
All autistic folks have some problem interacting with those around them. This impairment covers problems making friends and "fitting in", issue mixing with their peers, problems understanding social rules and the rules of conversation, and not selecting up on different people's feelings or showing their own in an inappropriate manner.
two) Problem with Social Imagination
This second impairment is to try and do with empathy and understanding consequences. An autistic person many have problems understanding the emotions and actions of other, dealing with amendment, coming up with for the longer term, coping with new things and experiences, understanding risks and dangers, and enjoying imaginatively.
3) Difficulty Communicating
All autistic folks have some degree of issue either with communicating or with understanding communication. Some sufferers can have problems with speech, some will not understand the different ways that folks communicate - gestures, body language and facial expressions, others will take things that people say quite literally and not perceive jokes or sarcasm, and some just will not perceive how conversation works and can interrupt or modification the subject.
Alternative Common Characteristics
Though there are only 3 characteristics that are common to all of the autism spectrum disorders, a number of them do share different characteristics and difficulties:-
? Sensory sensitivity - Several parents report that their autistic kids are either hypersensitive or hyposensitive. Hypersensitivity is when a kid is over-sensitive to touch, tastes, noises and smells. Hyposensitivity is the whole opposite and could mean that a kid has issues with fine motor skills, like doing up buttons, and might not be ready to feel pain.
? Obsessions - It is common for many autistic youngsters to become "fixated" on a bound hobby or interest.
? Learning disabilities - Some autistic youngsters have learning problems and could would like special support at school. Some autistic people also have problems like dyspraxia, dyslexia or ADHD.
? A would like for mounted rules and routine - As I have said, it is common for autistic people to possess problems dealing with modification and new experiences. An autistic kid could cope better if they have a predictable daily routine.
? Issues with daily chores and actions - Things that the rest of us take without any consideration, like brushing our teeth, laundry and making our beds, might be troublesome for an autistic child or adult to remember and do.

Will Autism be Cured?
This query is very controversial and has been debated many times. There are three main faculties of thought:-
? Some people believe that autism is an incurable incapacity that, though it will be treated and managed, cannot be cured.
? People like Jenny McCarthy believe that an autistic person will "recover" from autism, just sort of a person recovers from a automotive accident. Jenny's autistic son was treated with biomedical interventions and is now not on the autism spectrum. Several individuals would say that he is "cured".
? Alternative people are pushing for autism to be accepted, instead of treated. These people believe that they or their children aren't "broken" and don't need "fixing" or "curing", they wish to be accepted as they are.

What do I suppose?
I think that the triggers and causes of autism will be combated with biomedical treatments which autism is treatable and curable.
