She was on the top of Hollywood's most asked for actresses list. She was nominated for Golden Globe for best actress for the film "There's one thing concerning Mary". For "Shrek" she earned $ten million and in 2003 she became the third actress to earn $twenty million for a role in "Full Throttle'.
She was set to come with Jim Carrey in the film "Fun with Dick and Jane" however she opted out in favour of "In her Shoes". She earned $50 million for her roles in "What happened in Vegas" and also the "Shrek Sequels". In 2009 she starred in "My sister's Keeper" and "The Box". In 2010 came "Shrek for ever once" and "Knight and Day."
Diaz sued American Media Incorporated once The National Enquirer claimed she was cheating on her then boy-friend Timberlake, She received substantial defamation charges. She includes a name for being late and it is said that she washes her face solely in Evian spring water.
She has been concerned with the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), and has spoken as an advocate for the military families.
She has been out and in of quite a few relationships, initially it had been actor Matt Dillon with whom she broke up in 1998, then it had been singer/actor Jared Leto from 1999-2003. She later dated Justin Timberlake from 2003-2006. The couple was involved in an altercation with a tabloid photographer outside a hotel. As of in 2010 she is romantically involved with New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
