They are driven by external forces and lead lives through others. They rouse in the morning, and hit the floor running: take a shower, get the kids up, say a temporary "hello" to their partners, eat some breakfast (maybe), get the kids to school, get to work, pay the following eight hours doing stuff that they'll love or not, pick the youngsters up, take them to various activities, get home, sigh, prepare dinner, do some laundry, and then-then they crash if they haven't already! They watch TV, or stare at one page in the novel they need been trying to read for the last 2 weeks, and it is then time to sleep-yeah! Then they awaken and do it once more! Does any of this sound acquainted?
The matter with a life thus packed with "doing" is there is completely no time for "being." I really like the statement "We are human Beings, not human doings." The only approach to develop a robust relationship along with your Self is to pay time with yourself. So, that said, allow us to explore some solutions.
For instance that your life looks similar to the life described above. There are many creative ways in which to etch out time for yourself. One choice is to start out out small.
For instance, once dropping the children off rather than putting on the radio and considering the subsequent thing that you would like to try and do, get quiet instead. Ask yourself "How am I feeling right now?"
If you are feeling anxious regarding the day, notice and acknowledge this. This brings your attention inward. This brings you into the present.
Take some deep aware breaths; notice your inner world and then bring your focus to your outer world. Notice the colors around you. Notice the textures of your clothing. Notice the sounds that you just hear.
Now, bring your attention back to your inner world again, and raise yourself "How am I feeling in this present moment?" The nifty issue about doing this can be it takes only some minutes. And, this few minutes may be a wonderful way to reconnect with the Self.
Now, would you be willing to try to to this a few times every day? Would you be willing to spend five minutes reconnecting with yourself six times today? That is thirty minutes! Doing this can be a nice method to form some area with yourself!
As you begin the method of giving yourself permission to "Be" you may notice delicate and sometimes not so subtle changes. You will begin to notice when you are pumped up on adrenaline. You may notice what brings you moments of joy. You will notice those individuals in your life that energize you verses those people that are draining. You will begin to feel some clarity around what works in your life and what may need some transformation.
If you're feeling the need for a few support, raise a neutral friend, talk to your partner, or hire a coach. Developing a relationship along with your inner being could be a powerful step towards reclaiming your life.
