So this is the question: Can eye exercises actually better your vision? If so, by how much? And if not, what does it actually do? Is there any way to improve eyesight without Lasik eye surgery?

If you have a deficient vision, and have been making some investigation online of ways to naturally sharpen your vision, then there is a good chance you’ve came across websites where individuals ask questions like the one asked above. Most these folks are those who suffering with a deficient vision and would want to correct or sharpen it. I have been there too, so I know exactly how it feels to have a reduced-eyesight. In this post, I will through more light on this subject, and also provide links to internet resources you can use to help you get the best vision.

This really depends upon what type of vision impairment you have. If in case you have some sort of oculomotor issue (having to do with the muscles of your eye) then yes, vision therapy at an optometrist's office can be beneficial (also kinda depends on your age and motivation).

Should you be referring to refractive error (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, presbyopia (can't see at near over the age of 40)) then the answer is no. There are quite a few myths that exercises can improve refractive errors and it simply is just that....a myth. If you want to correct refractive error, you will need glasses, contacts or surgery (LASIK, LASEK, PRK, RK, etc). Glasses and contacts would be the best bets.

If in case you have certain refractive errors, you might be a good candidate for orthkeratology. Basically, custom made contacts are worn overnight to reshape your cornea so your vision improves during the day. This treatment is often offered at optometrist's office that specialize in contact lenses, specifically RGP (rigid gas permeable) contact lenses.

I would suggest a rendezvous at an optometrist's office to see what your options are for vision correction. Yes, they do work. But, please note that it won’t dramatically. Yes, you may get glasses or contact lenses to enhance your vision (only when you are wearing them).
