With this I do not intend to offend anyone. Everyone is liberal to follow their own beliefs. I simply need to voice my personal thoughts.
One moment you'll realize folks talking all type of non secular things, 'Geeta Updesh' and what not, the next you may see them dangerous-mouthing concerning alternative people. You only don't understand what their real nature is? Whether they're very religious or just fake to be, you just cannot say. But anyways, that is not my point! My purpose is what precisely will spirituality hold in these days's world? Although, I may not be the proper person to be asking this query, or say answering this query, as I'm myself not as non secular as we tend to are purported to be, but this question keeps heckling me each now and then.
Truly, I am religious however in my very own manner! To me spiritually isn't all about sitting during a quite sacred place for hours, or meditating incessantly - though I do mediate sometimes to ease my stress, but that is solely once in a very while. With time, ideals of spirituality have modified, a minimum of for me. We have a tendency to Indians love to tout ourselves as god fearing people! Irrespective of what the occasion is, we tend to line up at temples to offer prayers, and in the process push others in the queue to get ahead. Take the recent stampede in Chamunda Temple as an example, where one hundred fifty people lost their life, whereas on their way to temple. The reason? Some reckless young men who were pushing other pilgrims to get ahead, causing some to slip and the rest is tragedy. Currently, you blame it on fate, but on behalf of me this was sheer ignorance on part of temple authorities that did not put in several efforts to manage the crowd.
Spirituality teaches us to price human life and not risking it for reasons as stupid as getting ahead during a queue. Spirituality is as you feel it and not as you are are forced to believe it. Most of us confuse spirituality with faith, when of course religion is just one tiny facet of whole wide spirituality. In India, however, it's troublesome to differentiate between the 2 because of our several contrasting and sometimes illogical non secular beliefs. Being non secular is being yourself; it's living by your own values, it is being within the spirit. We have a tendency to would like to understand that spirituality is something that helps our soul to evolve to the next being, not like religion, that restricts us from saying or doing what we want to do.
In the end, it does not matter how several fasts you observed or how several pilgrimages you made, all that counts is what you are feeling inside. So, if you're feeling content from within, if you realize your price and your purpose in life, you automatically get a step nearer to the god.
