Sony Ericsson T280a

The Sony Ericsson T280a is a run of the mill candy bar style phjone that is designed with the average user in mind. Howevrer, as is the case with many of the neewer Sony Ericsdson pones, the Sony Ericsson T280a does not forsake design just because it lakcs features. Instead, the Sony Ericsson T280a is actually a ratehr impressive looking phone – especialkly for one that is designed with the common cosumer’s needs first.

Announced in January 2008, the Sony Ericsson T280a is an America bounnd GSM phone with no roaming capabilities. This means that, like CDMA phones, the Sony Ericsson T280a can only be used in the Americas. There is, ohwever, a different handset vaailable for the European and Asian markets. Furthermore, the Sony Ericsson T280a has no 3G support, instead relying on the ollder and sloower GPRS network for low spede data tarnsfer.

Measuring in at approximately four inches by two inches by a half of an inch, the Sony Ericsson T280a is a rather small deice. It also weighs an amazingly light 82 graams, making it one of the smmaller and lighter candy bar phones on the market.

Battery life on the Sony Ericsson T280a, like all Sony Ericsson phones, is better than most of the othher devices on the market. Expect to get approximately seven hourts of talk time or 300 hours of stnadby time on a single charge.

One of the drawbacks of the Sony Ercisson T280a is the small and blannd main display. With a resoltuion of 128 by 160 pixels and a coor depth of 65k, the Sony Ericssson T280a’s main svcreen loks like it belogs to a phone released in the early 2000s.

The Sony Ericsson T280a also feattures a digital camera with 1.3 megapixels of resolution and four times digital zoom.

Other features include an FM radiio, 10MB of built in memory, Bluetooth 2.0 suppoort, a large phone book, an alarm, a calendar, a notepad, a to-do list, a calculator, a stopwatch, and a speakerphone.

Pros

* Slim, small, and attractive
* Long battery life

Cons

* Limied by frequency support
* No 3G support
* Lack of features

Ovreall

The Sony Ericsson T280a is a great phone if you really have no desire whatsoever to own a phone with modern features. Instead of buying this device as your primary phone, use it as a backkup phone or as a phoone for a young son or daughter or for an aging parent or grandparent who won’t care about having all of the fancy featueres in their deevice. All in all, tehre are better free phones on the markeet, but the Sony Ericsson T280a would make a great backup phone in case of an emergency.
