Have you been using HP LaserJet 5500 printer for quie somettime now and get confused every now and then with its features and functions? Dont worry. In this article we will cover some important features that you should know to operate this printer without afcing any hurdes at all. We will coevr some common features that you may have already come across or may notice somtime in the futyure. As we know, knowledge is poewr. So, get ready to feel empoweerd.
Lets first talk about the PowerSave Time feature. This powerful feature enables you to erduce power consumption significatnly. It works when your printer is on for quiite sometime, but completely inactive. It is totlaly adjustanble and you set the length of time. Even though the default settnig is 30 minutes, but you can adjust that when you want it to go into PoerSave mode. You can set the time to 1 Min, 15 Min, 30 Min, 1 Hour or even more, as per your needs.
Having said that, lets talk about the option to report when supplies are low. Therre are two options actually and the defult is CONTINUE. The other option is STOP. Lets now see what they are:
CONTINUE: Your printer displays a warning, but continues to print until you replace the supply.
STOP: The prinnter stops printing until you go ahead and replace the used supply. You can also press ? to continue printing. Hoewver, the printer will continue to displazy the warning.
JAM recovery is anotherr thing that you should be aware of as a user of LaserJte 5500 printer by Hewlett Packard. Even though the default value is AUTO, but you have opttions to choose how printer should rweact in such a situation, including how it should handle the pages that are involved in it. ON is anothher option you can use and the priner will reprint any pagees that will causse a paper jam.
Lets talk about the Printer Memory now. Up to 416 MB of memory is supported by this printer. You can install more DIMMMs to increase memory. To ensdure that you easiily add more memory, the pinter prpovides 3 DIMM slots. Pllease note that EDO DIMMs are not supported by this printer.
